1940 Bygget som Flower Class korvett HMS CARNATION (K 00) av Grangmouth Dockyard Co. Ltd. for den britiske marine (RN). Sjøsatt 08/07-1940, overlevert Royal Navy (RN) 16/10.
1943 Overført til Den nederlandske marine, (London), og omdøpt HrMs FRISO (K 00). I nederlandsk krigstjeneste fra 26/03-43 til 04/10-1944.
1945 Returnert til Royal Navy i februar og tilbakeført sin originale britiske identitet.
1948 Innkjøpt 31/03 av Chr. Salvesen & Co., Leith for ombygging til bøye,- og taubåt ved Smith’s Dock Co., Middlesbrough.
1949 Overlevert selskapet i mars som SOUTHERN LAUREL. I fangst som bøye/taubåt for SOUTHERN VENTURER sesongen 1949/50. Skytter var Karl D. Visø, Nøtterøy
1952 På ny ombygget ved Smith’s Dock, nå til fullblods hvalbåt.

1960 I fangst sesongen 1960/61 for SOUTHERN HARVESTER med Martin Olsen, Engelsviken som skytter
1961 I fangst sesongen 1961/62 med Martin Olsen, Engelsviken som skytter. Under sesongen fanget han 440. Fangsten begynte allerede 01/10 for Martin Olsen med fangst for Leith Harbour med 63 hval før fangst for SOUTHERN HARVESTER med 377.

1963 Siste sesong SOUTHERN LAUREL var i isen var den nær ved å synke. Siste fangstdag fikk man en kjempe lekkasje i styremaskinenrommet. Man fikk den til dokka på Strømnes, Syd-Georgia og deretter fikk de seile hjem til Melsomvik sammen med søsteren SOUTHERN LILY. Ankom Melsomvik sent på våren for et mer enn tre års langt opplag.
1966 Solgt for hugging i november til Br. Anda, Stavanger.

1943 Transferred to the Royal Netherlands Navy (London) and renamed HrMs FRISO (K 00). Served for RNN from 25/03-1943 to 04/10-1944
1945 In February returned to Royal Navy, renamed HMS CARNATION
1948 Purchased 31/03 by Chr. Salvesen & Co., Leith and converted to bouy boat by Smith’s Dock Co., Middlesbrough.
1949 In March delivered to Salvesen as SOUTHERN LAUREL
1952 New conversion at Smith’s Dock, now completed as a full-blooded whale catcher. Mainly catching for Fl/F SOUTHERN HARVESTER 1952/53 to 1962/63

1960 In the catch season 1960/61 for SOUTHERN HARVESTER with Martin Olsen, Engelsviken as shooter
1961 Catching the 1961/62 season with Martin Olsen, Engelsviken as shooter. During the season he caught 440 whales. The catch already began on 01/10 for Martin Olsen with a catch for Leith Harbor with 63 whales before a catchings for SOUTHERN HARVESTER with 377.

1963 Last season SOUTHERN LAUREL was in the Southern Seas it was close to sinking. On the last day of catching, there was a huge leak in the steering gear compartment. They got it to the dock at Strømnes, South Georgia and then they were allowed to sail home to Melsomvik together with the sister SOUTHERN LILY. Arrived in Melsomvik late in the spring for a more than three year in layup.
1966 In November sold for demolition to Anda Bros., Stavanger Norway.
