1929 Bygd som hvalbåt VIKINGEN IV ved Smith's Dock Co. Ltd, Middlesbrough for Viking Corporation (Johan Rasmussen & Co, Sandefjord), Newcastle.
Sjøsatt 23/07-29. Satt i fangst for det nybygde kokeriet VIKINGEN fra sesongen 1929/30 som fangstbåt. Totalt 5 nybygde hvalbåter deltar.
1930 Resultatet av sesongen 1929/30 ble det avmeldt 82.090 fat hvalolje med 5 fangstbåter.

1931 Resultatet av sesongen 1931/32 ble det avmeldt 114.974 fat hvalolje med 5 fangstbåter.
1932 Selskapet registreres i Panama som Viking Corporation (Johan Rasmussen & Co, Sandefjord), Panama. Fartøyene registreres i Panama City.

1938 Solgt til Hamburger Walfang-Kontor GmbH (Oelmühlen-Walfang-Konsortium, Berlin), Hamburg. Omdøpt WIKING IV og registrert i Berlin. Fanget for kokeriet WIKINGER (ex VIKINGEN).
1939 Resultat av sesongen 1938/39 ble 52.396 fat hvalolje, 1.440 fat spermolje.
1940 Inndratt til fordel for den tyske marine som patruljefartøy og lagt inn under den nye kommando som ble opprettet i juni samme år under betegnelsen Vorpostenflotille.
1942 WIKING IV blir angrepet av russisk ubåt S-12 som fyrer av fire torpedoer mot noe som blir oppfattet som «et handelsfartøy» syd-vest av Klaipeda, Litauen. Torpedoene bommet.
1944 Senket i et flyangrep i Østersjøen utenfor Kotka i Finland av sovjetiske fly 16/07-1944.

1929 Built as whale catcher VIKINGEN IV by Smith's Dock Co. Ltd, Middleborough for Viking Corporation (Johan Rasmussen & Co, Sandefjord).
Launched 23/07-1929. Put to service as whale catcher for the newbuilt factory VIKINGEN from the season of 1929/30. A total of 5 newbuilt catchers participated.
1930 The result of season 1929/30 was 82.090 barrels of whale oil.
A new season in the Antarctic with the factory VIKINGEN season of 1930/31. Again with 5 catchers.
1931 The result of season 1931/32 was 114.974 barrels of whale oil.
1932 The company is registered in Panama as Viking Corporation (Johan Rasmussen & Co, Sandefjord), Panama. All vessels registered with Panama City as home port.

1938 Sold to Hamburger Walfang-Kontor GmbH (Oelmühlen-Walfang-Konsortium, Berlin), Hamburg, Germany. Renamed WIKING IV with Berlin as her homeport. Catching for the factory WIKINGER (ex VIKINGEN).
1939 The catch result of the season 1938/39 was 52.396 barrels of whale oil and 1.440 barrels of sperm oil.
1940 Included in the German War machine for the German Navy as patrol vessel and set to service in the new German group of patrol vessels founded in June and called Vorpostenflotille.
1942 WIKING IV was attached by the Soviet submarine S-12 who fired four torpedoes against what is identified as “a merchant vessel” south-west of Klaipeda, Lithuania. The torpedoes missed their target.
1944 Sunk in an air attack in the Baltic Sea off Kotka, Finland by Soviet aircrafts 16/07-1944.
