1910 Built as OCTO by Short Brothers Ltd, Pallion Yard, Sunderland, England for A/S Hekla (Mail & Holby, Nøterø), Tønsberg. Launched 11/02, completed in April.
1913 Port of registry changed to Kristiania.
1915 Sold in July for NOK 572.740 to A/S Dampskibet Octo (B. Stolt-Nielsen), Haugesund.
1918 Mined and sunk 13/06 in position 37.08N-10.54E, 4 nm East of Zembra Island, Tunisia whilst on a voyage from Licata, Sicily, Italy to Cette, France with 2.650 tons of sulphur. The vessel broke in two, the fore part sank, while the aft ship caught fire. 16 men died. Mine laid 19/06-1917 by the German submarine UC 22 (Kapitänleutnant Heino von Heimburg).
Captain Nikolai Abrahamsen and three men jumped to sea. They were taken up after one hour by a torpedo boat and landed the same day in Bizerte, Tunisia.
